Sound an Echo: Sara Pajunen and Rachael Kilgour

Friday, December 3 @ 7:30 pm

Friday, December 3 @ 10:00 pm

NEW VENUE – University United Methodist Church (UUMC)

In Sound an Echo, Rachael Kilgour and Sara Pajunen bridge their distinct yet complementary musical histories within traditional music from their European heritages. What happens when a Finnish fiddler extraordinaire teams up with a veteran singer songwriter? Magic. These Minnesota natives match energy, speed and intonation and deliver an evening of solid sound and song.

Kilgour is an award-winning songwriter whose sincere and lyric-driven work (‘a heartfelt slice of indie folk’ [Billboard]) has been heard at Lincoln Center and The Sundance Film Festival.

A classically-trained violinist with a Masters of Music in contemporary improvisation from New England Conservatory, Pajunen is a sound artist, composer and an acclaimed progressive practitioner of Nordic folk music with “extra elusive appeal…” (fRoots).

Pajunen’s sonic-focused aesthetic and Kilgour’s fluency in storyline combine artfully to highlight their shared sensitivity in powerful, inventive arrangements. Sound an Echo’s debut album ‘And We’ll All Go Together’ was released in early 2020.

Online ticket sales will stop at 5 pm the day of the concert. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door, starting at 6:30 pm
