Covid-19 Policy for Ten Pound Fiddle Concerts at UUMC
In response to concerns about the resurgence of the pandemic, on Sunday, August 22, the Ten Pound Fiddle Board of Directors passed the following policy:
- Proof of full vaccination will be required for everyone attending an indoor Ten Pound Fiddle concert (audience members, artists, and volunteers). Please bring your vaccination card, or a photo or photocopy of your card, to each concert. (Showing a medical record via a patient portal or other electronic means on your phone is also sufficient.)
- No one under 5 will be admitted to a concert without a vaccination card.
- Negative Covid-19 tests will not be accepted as an alternative to proof of vaccination.
- Masks will be required at all times except for artists on stage.
The Ten Pound Fiddle's policy is based on a combination of health and safety requirements and guidelines from the CDC, MDHSS, MIOSHA and the Ingham County Health Department; current music industry practices; input from artists; and the Ten Pound Fiddle's determination of best practices for presenting live music at this time.
This is very similar to policies implemented by the Ark in Ann Arbor, the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, all theatres on Broadway, and countless other performance venues across the country.
Ten Pound Fiddle Concerts to be held in large 400+ seat UUMC sanctuary
To support social distancing, all 2021-22 Ten Pound Fiddle concerts will take place in the 400+ seat sanctuary at University United Methodist Church, 1120 S Harrison Rd, East Lansing. Whether 100 people or 250 people attend a concert, there is plenty of room for patrons to spread out. All concerts are general admission. Doors open at 6:30 pm; concerts start at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available online until 5 pm the day of the show. Any additional tickets will be available at the door, starting at 6:30 pm. Per the Fiddle’s new Covid-19 policy (see above), proof of vaccination will be required for admittance, and masks will be required for everyone at all times.
Old Blind Dogs Concert Postponed until 2022
The Fiddle regrets to report that that the Old Blind Dogs concert—originally scheduled for Sept. 17, 2021—has been postponed until Friday, Sept. 23, 2022. Because of the pandemic, travel to and from Scotland and within the U.S. has become too complicated, so the band has delayed its month-long USA tour until fall 2022.
Current tickets holders for the September 17th, 2021 Old Blind Dogs concert will receive a full refund.
