Jen Sygit – CD release
Jen's fourth studio album "It's About Time," is produced by long time friend and collaborator Dominic John Davis (bassist for Jack White, Buddy Miller, North Mississippi Allstars, Joshua Davis). This new collection of original songs is an eclectic sonic journey drawing influence from a cross section of middle America, from the Gulf Shore sands to the Great Lakes basin. "It's About Time" was engineered at La Luna Recording & Sound in Kalamazoo by Ian Gorman and features a talented ensemble of players including Davis, Drew Howard, Mike Lynch, Geoff Lewis and Ross Huff.
Jen Sygit is a Lansing based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist releasing her fourth studio album “It’s About Time” October 2018. Produced by Dominic John Davis (Jack White, Buddy Miller, Joshua Davis) and featuring performances from artists such as Luther Dickinson, Colin Linden and the McCrary Sisters in addition to a top shelf cast of Michigan talent, “It’s About Time” showcases the breadth and depth of Sygits’ songwriting and musicianship. Some awards/nominations previously garnered by Sygit include: Album of the Year (Bommarito WQKL Ann Arbor, MI), (Progressive Torch & Twang WDBM Lansing, MI); Best Folk Album nomination (WYCE Grand Rapids, MI), (Detroit Music Awards). Beyond her solo career Jen is also a founding member of all-female stringband Stella!, roots rock band Lincoln County Process and is a veteran session vocalist having recorded on nearly 50 albums nationwide. In addition to touring, Jen hosts the weekly radio show “Eclecticana” (WLNZ Lansing, MI) and has hosted a popular open mic in Lansing since 2003.
