From noon - 3:30 pm, Saturday, Feb. 1, the Singing Festival will host a two singing workshops and a Community Sing.

$20 wristband good for any and all Saturday workshops. Students free. A refreshment center will be open from 11 am – 2:30 pm, offering coffee, tea, cider, and cookies for a donation.

Afternoon Community Sing

The Afternoon Community Sing will pull songs from the two books that have sustained the community singing movement: Rise Up Singing and Rise Again. Song leader Sally Potter and friends will lead favorites, including songs made popular by the late Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary, and the late Josh White Jr.   Books welcome but not necessary; lyric sheets provided.

The Best of the Movies

with Dan Chounaird

“Come to the Cabaret” and leave with your heart full of great movie songs. Other selections include, “I Could Have Danced All Night,” and “Singing In The Rain” among many others. This is your chance to sing your favorite Oscar winning – and nominated – songs with Dan Chouinard, a terrific song leader and fabulous piano (and accordion) player. Lyric sheets provided.

Folk Song Jam Along

with Lori Fithian and Jean Chorazyczewski

Join this all-ages, community music-making event where everyone is welcome—no musical experience necessary. Just bring your love for singing! Lori Fithian and Jean Chorazyczewski have over 300 songs to choose from across genres and decades; they project the lyrics and chords on the screen so everyone can follow along. Whether you bring an acoustic instrument or just your voice, you are invited to join this musical magic.
