2022 Season Update

March 1, 2022

Dear Ten Pound Fiddle Members, Friends & Fans,

Remember the story of the Phoenix, the mythical bird that symbolizes rebirth?

Well, here is the NEW/REVISED Ten Pound Fiddle Concert & Dance Schedule for March — May 2022. In January, out of concern for the safety of our audience, the Ten Pound Fiddle postponed six January and February concerts. However, all six have been rescheduled for this Spring or Fall.

This Spring the Ten Pound Fiddle is presenting 14 shows & 3 dances in 10 weeks—11 concerts at the University United Methodist Church, 1120 S. Harrison in East Lansing; three concerts on Wednesday nights at the Robin Theatre, 1105 S. Washington in Lansing’s REO Town; and 3 dances at the Central United Methodist Church, 215 N. Capitol Avenue in Lansing.

On Saturday, March 5, there will be a Two-Dance Celebration of Life in honor of Laura Stein, one of the pillars of the Lansing Area folk community. (See schedule for details.)

On Friday, March 11, the Irish quartet Téada will appear in concert. They are not only amazing instrumentalists, but also wonderful singers with glorious harmonies.

On Friday, March 18, right before Ray Kamalay & His Red Hot Peppers in concert at 7:30 PM, you’re invited to stop by the annual Fiddle membership meeting from 6-7PM to offer suggestions and input, ask questions, & hear what the Board has planned.

Please note that two shows are on Saturday, instead of our usual Friday night: The Sweet Water Warblers will be on Sat. May 7. Frank Youngman & Seth Bernard will appear in 2 shows on May 14—a FAMILY SHOW (especially appropriate for parents and young children) from 5 – 5:45 PM, and then a regular evening concert at 7:30 PM.

Note: This spring the Ten Pound Fiddle will continue to require vaccination cards with an ID (photos OK) and a mask for entry.

All information for each concert & dance, including online sales of concert tickets, can be found here.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT . . . because of your financial support through memberships and ticket sales, the Ten Pound Fiddle has endured two years of the Covid pandemic. Now we are ready to once again offer concerts, dances and young people’s events to our community.

See you at The Fiddle!
