Co-sponsored with the Robin Theatre. Warren and Flick were the talk of the 2025 FARM (Folk Alliance Region Midwest) Conference held in Chicago. The Ann Arbor-based duo crafts a compelling sound that blends original composition and improvisation with classical, jazz, and folk traditions. Their newest record, Cormorant (2025), captures a further evolution—brimming with sonic color, inventive textures, and a continued spirit of curiosity.

Warren & Flick played a set at the Robin in 2024 and blew their minds. Their acoustic musical virtuosity, nimble fingers and creatively progressive compositions have stuck with us – Dylan spins their “Waxwing” record regularly! Come enjoy some truly brilliant chamber-folk from this excellent duo!
The genre-blending acoustic duo features Jacob Warren (double bass and tenor bass) and Grant Flick (violin, tenor guitar, nyckelharpa). Their original music is rooted in folk, jazz, and classical traditions—inviting yet exploratory, with a strong improvisational thread. The duo shares their work through performances, workshops, and published sheet music. Together they have released three albums of original music: Kestrel (2019), Waxwing (2022), and Cormorant (2025). In May of 2026 the duo premiered their original double concerto “The Flock Concerto” with symphony orchestra.
