9/11 Memorial

Four michigan acts come together three days after the 9/11 attacks for a very moving night of contemplation and community to benefit relief organizations.

This year is the 20th anniversary of the 9/11/2001 attacks.

That week, the Fiddle’s 9/14/2001 show was supposed to be a popular Irish band, but since all plane travel was grounded, the band could not get here.

Instead, four Michigan acts agreed to perform in what turned out to be a very moving night of contemplation and community.

A packed house of 300 people jammed MSU’s Erickson Kiva. After expenses, over $3000 was donated to 9/11 relief organizations.

One of the acts, Kitty Donohoe, debuted her song,”There Are No Words.”

This video shows Kitty singing the song in DC at the dedication of the memorial at the Pentagon.

The four acts were:
Joel Mabus
Second Opinion (Pat Madden, Betsy Clinton, and Sally Potter)
Kitty Donohoe
Lady of the Lake (Wanda Degen, Karrie Potter, and Rachel Alexander substituting for Pooh Stevenson – who was giving birth to her now 20 year old daughter, Taylor)
