Ruby John has been captivating audiences with her driving fiddle style. She with John Warstler will present a night full of a variety of fiddle tunes, sing some songs, and tell stories of Ruby's life in her journey to blend her fiddling with her Native heritage.

Ruby John is a Traditional Fiddler and a member of The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. Ruby learned to play from many Michigan Fiddlers, and at a variety of fiddle camps, and workshop through out Michigan and Ontario CA. She plays a variety of styles including Old-Time, French Canadian, Metis, Irish and Bluegrass. At a young age any chance she had she would sit behind fiddlers at contra or square dances and learn how to play for dances and she thinks that’s where her drive in her fiddling comes from. Ruby has grown into her own as a Michigan Fiddler and has performed throughout the US and Canada.

John Warstler has been playing and teaching guitar for several decades. He is currently blessed to be able to perform with young talented musicians which allows him to advance his skills to fresh and exciting new levels. John’s major focus has always been backing up  musicians whether they be singers or instrumentalists.  It is his strong belief that a solid backup, rhythm guitar player should listen and provide a solid foundation that enhances the sound for whatever song or melody that is being performed. John also does solo work and has three successful CD’s that feature his fingerstyle guitar work. He currently performs with fiddler Ruby John, The Johns, contra dance band and Celtic Fiddler Hannah Harris.
