"However, the group actually started out as a trio ... and for a new album and current concerts, original member Libby Glover has rejoined David Tamulevich and Michael Hough. Her presence brings a whole new dimension to the Mustard's Retreat sound, yet the transition sounds just like it feels ... perfectly natural." - Bob Needham, Pulp, Ann Arbor "...music to cure what ails you." - Michigan Times

From their start at the Ark’s open mic in July 1974, this award-winning trio ( Libby Glover, Michael Hough & David Tamulevich)has become a perennial favorite, not only in Michigan and throughout the Midwest,…but throughout the US and beyond. Their 14 recordings have garnered much airplay and praise over the years, and on this night they will be celebrating the release of their newest, ” Make Your Own Luck.”. Their live shows, as well, have been highly praised for offering ” Music that cures what ails you!.”: ( Michigan Times),  stirring harmonies, touching, humorous, insightful and intelligent songs & stories…celebrating community and our common ground. Two of their compositions, ( Ours is a) Simple Faith, and Gather the Family, are widely sung and regarded as modern classics, and were included in the new Rise Again songbook.

Libby Glover is a native of Flint and a product of what was an amazing arts program in the 1960s  Michael Hough grew up mainly in West Bloomfield, MI ( via Pittsburgh and Toledo- his father was a  professor), in a family that regularly had  family sings.  David Tamulevich is from Connecticut, grew up surrounded by by classical music ( his Mom a viola player, his sister played piano)…and a Dad who sang songs from the 30s & 40s. They have performed more than 6,000 shows, traveled more than a million miles.  ” What keeps it fresh and fun for us,” Tamulevich says, ” is our audiences.  They are why we do what we do: every night is unique, every audience a gift to us..how can we not love that, and them?”
