Ruby John

Judy Raber

Molly McBride

Molly McBride plays the old time fiddle with a particular fondness for tunes and styles from Appalachia, the Midwest, and the Ozarks. She was introduced to old-time music through the Pretty Shaky String Band while attending MSU as an undergrad, where she probably spent the same amount of time playing and learning music from local masters like Mike Ross as she spent on homework. Now, you can hear her playing for contra and square dances all around the lower peninsula, on MSU’s campus every Wednesday for lunch with Jeff Norman in the Rock Andy Lunchtime Experience, jamming with the Pretty Shaky String band, and on her porch, probably working out a modal tune.
