Dear Ten Pound Fiddle Community:
Because we now have individuals identified with the coronavirus in Michigan and several hundred more under monitoring, the Ten Pound Fiddle Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the concerts for the remainder of the Spring Season, including this Friday’s performance by The Steel Wheels.
We are tremendously sorry to do this! A stellar lineup of performers was scheduled from this Friday, March 13, through April 24: The Steel Wheels, Lynn Miles, Joshua Davis, Frank Youngman and Seth Bernard, Low Lily, and Emma’s Revolution. We were really looking forward to these concerts, and we know you were too.
Every attempt will be made to reschedule these artists during the 2020-2021 season. Through emails and social media, the Fiddle will keep you posted.
We understand the wisdom of “social distancing” in slowing down the advance of this disease. But “social distancing” is pretty much the opposite of what we do. Our whole goal is to bring people together around music.
If you purchased tickets to any of the cancelled concerts online through Brown Paper Tickets, you can email support@brownpapertickets.com or call 1-800-838-3006 to request a refund. These requests must take place anytime before 4:30 pm on the day of each (now cancelled) concert. Brown Paper Tickets recommends calling for a quicker turnaround.
If you choose not to request a refund, your dollars will go directly to the Fiddle to help cover the expenses incurred by the cancellation of these six concerts.
To get your regular “fix” of folk music, we recommend “Folk with Matt Watroba” every Sunday evening from 6-8 pm on WKAR-FM 90.5; “Roots and Branches” with Jim Hall on WLNZ-FM 89.7 FM on Fridays from 6-7 pm and Saturdays from 2-3 pm; “Eclecticana” hosted by Jen Sygit on WLNZ-FM 89.7 FM on Fridays from 1-3 pm and Saturdays from 3-5 pm.
Thank you so very much for your continued support, especially in these troubled times.
The Ten Pound Fiddle Board of Directors
