SUMMARY:Spencer LaJoye
DESCRIPTION:Spencer LaJoye makes queer indie folk music for everyone. With a crystalline voice\, a multi-instrumentalist’s harmonic command\, and virtuosic mastery of the loop pedal\, LaJoye is a one-human tour-de-force\, winning ears and hearts everywhere they go. \nLaJoye is a relentless wordsmith\, harvesting endless insight out of lived experience. Spencer’s songs dance effortlessly between theatrical grace and unhinged sincerity. \nSince the providential breakout of their anthemic hymn “Plowshare Prayer\,” Spencer has been in non-stop motion\, winning the 2021 Kerrville New Folk singer/songwriter contest\, and the 2024 Songwriter Serenade. They’ve shared stages with The Crane Wives\, Dar Williams\, and countless greats in the singer/songwriter community. \nThe accolades\, though exciting\, pale in comparison to the word-of-mouth fervor around LaJoye’s music and ethos. Spencer’s beloved live performances are a curious blend of pastoral sobriety and nimble playfulness. A Spencer LaJoye concert isn’t exactly a worship hour\, a one-act drama\, or an unplugged emo show. But it’s never not those things. \n“This is what folk music is supposed to do. Singing truth to power\, piercing to the heart.” – Marilyn Rea Beyer\, The Midnight Special \n“Reflective and evocative folk/pop…LaJoye not only knows how to tell a story but how to create drama in the melodies” – Gary Schwind\, Glide Magazine \n“LaJoye’s pure\, crystalline vocals deliver their truth in the most heart-wrenchingly vulnerable way as they offer [their] experience proudly for the whole world to hear.” – Sarah Swift\, Mother Church Pew \n\n\n  \nwww.spencerlajoye.com

SUMMARY:Tim Grimm
DESCRIPTION:For a quarter of a century\, Tim Grimm has been writing songs of stunning – and increasingly rare – quality. \nEach new recording by Grimm represents a poetic\, intense\, passionate immersion in the heart of America. His songs are authentic\, straight from the heart\, quietly breathtaking. \nA magnificent songwriter and a storyteller with the ability to connect to audiences in an intimate and natural way\, Grimm is a master craftsman sitting down\, painting a picture\, and giving a master class. \nBorn and raised in Indiana\, Tim has developed a distinct voice shaped by the Midwest.\nIn these days\, Grimm carries the torch of Woody Guthrie’s social conscience\, the refined and authentic storytelling of Guy Clark. \nAt his side stands guitarist- and mythic cowboy- Sergio Webb\, one of Americana’s most distinctive and electrifying sidemen. Together\, Tim Grimm and Sergio Webb form a duo that is more than the sum of its parts. Their chemistry is intense\, intuitive\, and endlessly captivating\, drawing audiences into a performance that feels alive\, restless\, and beautifully human. This is not just a collaboration. It’s a conversation. A spark. A shared flame. \n\n\n“[Grimm] crafts cinematic moments that play out vividly as he illustrates the little struggles and glories that live in our mundane activities and they illumine our experiences of loss.” -Alan Cackett \n“The musical implementation is concentrated Grimm’s rough voice and his elaborately and straight-lined plucked folk guitar. In the singular poignancy of these songs\, one believes one can feel the flannel shirt on one’s skin\, the ax in one’s hand\, the smell of grass and moss and forest. That’s exactly what Bob Dylan must have had in mind when he invented this type of song a good 60 years ago.” – Michael Lohr\, Akustik Gitarre \nhttp://www.timgrimm.com
