SUMMARY:Playful Songs with Lake Effect
DESCRIPTION:Do the children in your life love to move and sing with music? Come play with music at Fiddle Scouts! Events are especially geared for ages 3+ and their families. \nOn Labor Day weekend\, Saturday\, Sept. 4\, from 11 – noon\, the Fiddle Scouts will feature the Lake Effect Family Band on the lawn of The Pumphouse\, 368 Orchard Street\, East Lansing\, MI. \nEveryone is welcome. Bring a chair or a blanket\, and a few kids. Outdoors; indoors if rain\, but please note that if the concert moves indoors\, masks will be required for all attendees. \nSuggested donation is $5 per child or $10 per family and can be paid online at the link below or with cash in person. \nClick here to make a donation to Fiddle Scouts!\nFor more information\, email Julianna Wilson at fiddlescouts@gmail.com. \nLAKE EFFECT is a family roots band from northern Michigan that has been delighting audiences near and far for over 30 years.  With their tight family harmonies\, hilarious original songs\, traditional music\, and a deep understanding of how to engage audiences of all ages\, Lake Effect is a perfect storm for family fun with music.  Lake Effect consists of Tiyi Schippers on lap dulcimer and percussion\, David Bunce on Guitar and banjo\, Rachael Davis\, (Sweet Water Warblers)\, on guitar\, banjo\, and ukulele\, her husband\, Dominic John Davis\, (Steppin’ In It and Jack White).  This musical family is joined by good friend Bruce Ling\, also of Hawks and Owls\, on fiddle\, mandolin\, and flat picked guitar. \nLake Effect has performed in many settings both near and far\, from school groups throughout Michigan as well as Nashville\, Chicago\, and other locations\, to festivals ranging from The Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island to Michigan’s own Wheatland Music Festival\, Hiawatha Music Festival\, Blissfest\, Hoxeyville Festival\, The Fretboard Festival\, and more.  They have also played at concert venues from Gopherwood Concerts in Cadillac to The Ten Pound Fiddle in East Lansing\, as well as community concert series across Michigan.  Lake Effect is a seasoned group of musicians whose love of the music is only surpassed for their love of each other.
