But as high as my expectations were\, he surpassed them in every way. David is a consummate performer\, singer\, songwriter\, and musician. In addition\, he is professional in every respect\, always doing more than required. On the top of that he is a delightful human being. I thank him for his superlative performances and give any one who may ask my highest recommendation.” \n-Ron Sowell\, Artistic Director ~ Woody Hawley Concert Series\, Charleston\, WV\nMusical Director – Mountain Stage Radio Show \nDavid Roth first played (and many times since) at the Fiddle during the 1990’s\, and we’re glad to welcome back the Chicago-born singer/songwriter now living on Cape Cod. \nRoth has taken his songs\, experience\, and expertise to a wide variety of venues in this and other countries full-time for more than three decades and his work has found its way to Carnegie Hall\, the United Nations\, several Chicken Soup for the Soul books\, the Kennedy Center\, Peter\, Paul\, & Mary and Kingston Trio recordings\, NASA’s Goddard Space Center (his song “Rocket Science” sailed on the space shuttle Atlantis in 2009)\, the Rise Up Singing and Rise Again (sequel) songbooks\, the Kerrville (TX) New Folk Award\, and 15 CDs on the Wind River and Stockfisch (Germany) labels. \nThe former artist-in-residence at New York’s Omega Institute has been on many of Christine Lavin’s seminal Rounder Records compilations and has also taught singing\, songwriting\, and performance at many music camps around the country. David serves as Executive Director for SummerSongs\, an annual songwriting camp which just concluded it’s 28th annual gathering in upstate New York and is also creator of the Cape Cod Songwriters Retreat and the Cape’s Full Moon Open Mic\, which since 2005 has provided a forum for musicians and creatives to connect and be heard while at the same time collecting donations (nearing $20\,000 to date) for local non-profits to help neighbors in need. \nDavid has also been writing for the Songs of Love Foundation ~ https://songsoflove.org/ ~ since 1998\, another non-profit that provides free custom-made songs for families around the world with sick kids.
